New chapter's event welcomes over 80 people

Over 80 people gathered on Sunday at the home of the Wheaton Fransciscans for a "Family and Friends" event hosted by our West Suburban Chicago chapter. The gathering featured a talk by Fr. Bob Colaresi, O.Carm, titled "The Role of the Laity and Primacy of Conscience."

Rachelle, who helped organize the event, said that the turn out was great and Fr. Bob's talk was "wonderful and inspirational." After the discussion, the group celebrated Mass together. Chapter liaison, Bob Heineman joined them for the evening. "It is a real tribute to the truth that a small group of dedicated people can make big things happen" he said of the chapter. "[The event had] great enthusiasm and a real sense that 'We are the Church.'"

Many of our chapters worship together and host educational events regularly; creating community is a core part of how we build the Church we know is possible. Check out our Chapters page to find a local group, or our calendar to see what’s happening!
