CTA Staff preparing in Memphis!
This year's Annual Conference will be in Memphis, TN and we are so excited! This week, Bob and Colette are in Memphis checking out the city and all it has to offer. Bob has been meeting with local members who will be hosting us. They are a wealth of information about the city, its history and, of course, great community connections! They're excited to introduce more people to the CTA family at Conference. Bob says he's impressed by the rich history and inspired present of social justice and interfaith work in Memphis; the energy and culture of Memphians is definitely one of the reasons we're so excited to be in Memphis in November!
While Bob has been meeting with members, Colette and Dave been checking out our Conference facilities and working on the logistics of making the largest gathering of progressive Catholics in the country a success! She's also been taking some time to check out what else the city has to offer our members. "We spent a good portion of yesterday and today touring the Memphis Cook Convention Center and Sheraton Downtown Memphis," she reports. "It was incredibly moving to tour the National Civil Right Museum and see where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr was assassinated. Then we moved along to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music - which was awesome! We have had a great dinner last night at the Texas de Brazil and the Sheraton Breakfast this morning was delicious."
Make sure to check out our 2014 Conference page and stay tuned for updates as we approach this year's exciting weekend in The River City!
