WATER hosts conversation on Women in Religion
Our friends at the Women's Alliance for Theology, Ethics and Ritual (WATER), host monthly online conversations on a great variety of feminist topics. Tomorrow, the authors of the book A Guide for Women in Religion: Making Your Way from A to Z will discuss their stories and the book. The book is, as the title says, a practical "survival guide" for the women breaking barriers as students and academics of religion.
The authors come from diverse backgrounds. Mary E Hunt is the co-founder of WATER and is active in feminist Catholic movements and writes with a special emphasis on the theology and ethics of liberation. Kecia Ali has published numerous works on Islam, its prophets, and laws from a feminist perspective. Monique Moultrie specializes in sexual ethics, African American religious traditions, and gender and sexuality studies and is working on a book on on womanism, black female televangelists, and faith-based sexuality ministries.
The conversation will take place tomorrow at 1pm EST, you can register here. Past WATERtalks are archived online and great for small groups or individual reflection.
