Amazing speakers this weekend at the West Coast CTA Conference
This weekend, May 2-4, join us in Sacramento for an inspiring weekend of community and learning! Space is still available to attend for only $100 for the whole weekend! If you live nearby, this is not to be missed.
Friday night's plenary by Jamie Manson, on the topic of "Empowering the Laity in an Era of a Popular Pope" will be sure to challenge us as she explores the complexities of working for Church reform in the era of Francis. Matthew Fox will also tackle the question of the "new moment" in our Church as he discusses the popular reaction to the Pope and what it means for the empowerment of communities and individuals to transform themselves and seek justice.Ryan, who will be attending the Conference, is especially excited to explore his own vocation in working for justice during Edwina Gateley's workshop on staying inspired and healthy in the midst of so much injustice and crisis. "Gateley is always a popular speaker at our national Conference," he said. "I'm excited to learn from her wisdom and explore how we can be a stronger movement for justice in the Church."
The weekend will finish Sunday with what is sure to be a motivating talk by Sr. Simone Campbell. As executive director of NETWORK, Sr. Simone was one of the initiators of the "Nuns on the Bus" tour and campaigns for a budget that would alleviate poverty, for healthcare reform and for just immigration policies.
If you live nearby, stop by and see us! For just $20 you can stop in for a plenary, or for $100 you can attend the whole conference, what a great chance to meet progressive Catholics from across the region!
