On our calendar for September 10th-- a lunch hour teleconference with Andrea Smith! Andrea is a well known academic and activist for the rights of women of color, especially Native women in the US. The conversation will be hosted by our friends at WATER, the Women's Alliance for Theology, Ethics and Ritual.
Andrea Smith is known for her work as the founder of INCITE! Women of Color Against Violence and her books about the historic and contemporary use of violence and patriarchy to dominate and exterminate Native American communities. Recently, Andrea's blog has featured essays about the importance of collective healing and transformative justice, the conversation on September 10 is sure to be an important and energizing challenge as we work for justice in our world!
