#EqualinFaith

Today is Women's Equality Day in the United States and people of faith are rallying on social media to show our support for equality in faith. The online event was planned by women's ordination advocates in the Mormon, Lutheran and Catholic Churches.

"While women serve as priests and in positions of religious and ritual authority in a growing number of churches, they still are denied ordination to the priesthood and equitable inclusion in far too many religious traditions. We refuse to tolerate discrimination against women in our secular institutions. Why, then, do we accept it in our religious institutions?" asks the coalition. Today, as the U.S. celebrates the anniversary of 19th Amendment which gave women a legal voice in our government, we are calling out for an equal voice in our Church.

Share a picture or a status online that lets the world know you are a person of faith who believes in full equality for women, and stay tuned for upcoming events from the Equal In Faith initiative!
