Forum on Women in the Catholic Church: What Francis Needs to Know
On Saturday, July 25, Call To Action and several other organizations will convene a forum on women in the Catholic Church called, "Women in the Catholic Church Today: What Francis Needs to Know." The free one-day forum will examine and discuss Pope Francis' changes in the church and focus on the largely ignored concerns of Catholic women. Speakers will include experts in church history, Catholic theology, and the lived experience of Catholic women.
If you'll be in the Chicago area and would like to participate in-person, please register here. If you or a group would like to watch the live-stream from your location, you can view it here.
Featured panels include:* Always at the center, but never at the front? The role of women in the Church.* Called to serve but nowhere to go: addressing discrimination in Church service.* Sex, sexuality, and other unmentionables* Family matters
Call To Action and the sponsoring organizations are excited these conversations are happening ahead of Francis' visit to the U.S. this fall. It is vital we continue to stand on the side of justice and equality in our church. I hope you'll participate in-person or online!
Peace,
Jim FitzGerald, Executive Director
