Ecology and Feminism

At first glance, it might not seem obvious that ecology and feminism are linked together, but Dr. Rosemary Radford Ruether thinks otherwise. Radford Ruether, dubbed as an ‘activist theologian’ by National Catholic Reporter, has spent her career studying and writing about the link between the rights of women and the health of our planet. She has written many books including To Change the World: Christology and Cultural Criticism. She is currently a visiting professor of religion and feminist theology at Claremont School of Theology in California.

On Saturday, September 26, 2015, Radford Ruether will speak at the Northway Christian Church in Dallas, TX. Interweaving Pope Francis’s latest encyclical on the environment, “LAUDATO SI: On care for our common home” and women’s issues, Radford Ruether’s topic for the day will be “Spirituality, Ecology, and Feminism.” Sponsored by the Dallas chapter of Call To Action, the event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with doors opening at 8:30 a.m.  Radford Reuther will present in the morning and the afternoon will offer time for discussion and questions.

The early registration fee is $30 lasts until September 21. After that time and at the door, the fee is $35. For more information, contact Mary Jane Stevenson at 214-457-3466 or jstebens53ok@gmail.com
