CTA House Party

When I was growing up, I always loved it when my parents had a party. The house was humming with people: talking, eating, laughing, sharing ideas. As an adult, I was intentional about keeping my home open to family and friends. Everyone knew they could stop by spontaneously; they were always welcome. When my children were teenagers and brought their friends over to hang out, I loved the energy they brought to our living space. When mealtime happened, somehow there was always enough food and plenty of room for one more person at the table.

Today my husband and I still enjoy inviting friends over to sip on a glass of wine and break bread. Our conversations can be light and playful or deep and soulful. I wonder if our dinners are at all like the early Christians, how they gathered in one another’s homes to share word and wine, bread and breath. Hospitality is certainly a long-standing tradition in our faith life.

In that same spirit of hospitality, Call To Action would like to invite you to open your homes and support CTA. We are asking people to host a CTA House Party to share the good news of Call To Action and raise money to support our efforts. Curious? Here are the expectations of the host:

  • Invite 12-15 individuals.

  • Open your home or reserve spacefor invited guests to mingle.

  • Serve some light refreshments.

  • Offer a short prayer and then share why you love and support CTA.

  • Show a prepared videothat offers information about Call To Action.

  • Collect contact informationof those attending.

  • Collect financial gifts and/or pledge cards at the end of the gatheringand send on to CTA national.

Simple. If you are willing to host a CTA House Party, let me know at marci@cta-usa.org or 773-404-0004 x261. We are happy to share more information, send you a packet of materials, and get the party started.
