Catholic Tipping Point Tour: Fall 2014

We are excited to host Fr. Tony Flannery in 18 cities across the country this fall!

The tour, co-sponsored by national and local church reform groups, will bring the Irish priest on his first U.S. Tour to meet with eager audiences of Catholics.

Who?

Fr. Tony Flannery is a Redemptionist priest from Ireland. Well-known for his retreats and preaching, Fr. Tony gained notoriety after his calls for Church reform caught the attention of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF). The founder of the Association of Catholic Priests and respected pastor was silenced by the CDF after he refused to sign a document proclaiming that he believed that women cannot be priests and that he agrees completely with institutional teachings on contraception, homosexuality and remarriage. Fr. Tony said that his conscience would not allow him to sign such an oath, nor would he be silent. In his book,  A Question of Conscience, he describes his journey and the stand he took for a more open and modern Church. He has continued his work with the Association of Catholic Priests and is a vocal advocate for a Church that lives the values of the Gospel and of Vatican II.
