Inspiring Catholics: Betty Tardola

BELOIT, WI

I am an African American woman, a proud mother of a son who is a senior assistant veterinarian…and I am a lifelong Catholic, member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Beloit, Wisconsin; I am a perennial student of language and understanding/appreciating diversity.

I can make a difference in the church by using the many gifts with which I have been blessed to contribute in ways that my talents and skills allow.  My mother always told me and my siblings the following truth:  “To him/her whom much is given, much is expected.”  Throughout my adulthood, I have remembered these words and, as a believer in Jesus Christ, I realize that it is my duty to share with others from the blessings that I have received.

If we work together as a church, we can assist each other to mature as a people and contribute as true Christians to a positive society.
