Second Monday of Advent
We cannot wait for God to save us when the hearts of humans have yet to break open; when the people have shown that our rights are never fully protected.
In a world where some people’s lives and needs are valued over those of others, we must stand up; we must hold strong in courage and in softening.
We cannot wait for God to save us for we are people of the world; our souls are sacred but the collective is broken.
Our world is full of ecstasy and pain, of joy and of sorrow; with the best of intentions a wound can still fester for decades if left untreated.
We cannot wait for God to save us even if we wish that things could be solved that way; some of us don’t have that privilege.
It takes a village to heal disconnection; in the dark hours of the morning we wake to greet another day with compassion and hope.
We cannot wait for God to save us, we must work with God to save ourselves.
