About the Position
Full Time 35 hours/week, salaried position. Fully remote with some travel.
Pay: $50k - $55k, negotiable, dependent on qualifications

The Outreach and Engagement Director is a new position within Call To Action. We hope that the person in this role will use the existing patterns for the responsibilities as a blueprint, while also adapting this role to their own preferred workstyle to accomplish the necessary goals.
The Outreach and Engagement Director has two key responsibilities. The first is to manage Call To Action’s Re/Generation Program for members in their 20s to early 40s. The second is to develop and facilitate, with the help of the Executive Director, programs and outreach among Call To Action’s membership groups and partner organizations and ministries.
In the next year, Call To Action is looking to strengthen and enhance our membership and programming in the following areas: Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and AAPI outreach; national campaign involving intergenerational lobbying and direct actions within and outside institutional parishes; reproductive justice, queer, and trans-affirming initiatives. As an organizer, the Outreach and Engagement Director will engage long-standing members and also create connections with prospective members and partners, providing opportunities for CTA members to learn about and take action to advance some of these initiatives. As a visionary, Outreach and Engagement Director may also work closely with staff and the Vision Council in crafting and implementing initiatives, including but not limited to community mobilization, lobbying, alternative liturgies, and virtual programs and events.
The Re/Generation Program Director guides all aspects of CTA’s leadership and mentoring program, Re/Generation:
Oversee recruitment, application, interview, and selection process for young adult participants (Re/Generators)
Plan and facilitate meaningful regular gatherings on Zoom to support the spiritual nourishment and vocational discernment of Re/Generators and cultivate a sense of community within the cohort
Support Re/Generators in discerning, developing, and implementing projects that promote their personal vocational exploration and advance the mission of CTA
Plan and facilitate retreats for Re/Generation and other constituencies as needed. These retreats may be in-person, online, or hybrid.
Plan and facilitate Zoom gatherings to support mentors in their role and provide an opportunity for mentors to share with one another.
Build 1:1 relationships with Re/Generators and Mentors through regular communication over the course of the program.
Maintain relationships with alumni and work with CTA staff and leadership to develop opportunities for ongoing alumni engagement and integration into the broader CTA membership.
2. Outreach & Programming At Large
Staff Working Groups and Programs/Strategy Committee
Develop, lead, or co-lead virtual events
Collaborate with the staff and the Vision Council (board) on national programming
Ensure multiple points of entry and tiers of engagement within the CTA membership, including expanding the network and ensuring the recruitment and retention of CTA members, advocates, and partners.
Oversee and maintain a membership database, and continue to build and maintain new connections among individuals and organizations
Facilitate organizing meetings as needed
Send membership e-blasts and communications as needed
A successful candidate for this position will:
Be passionate about confronting injustices and working for transformation in the Catholic Church
Be grounded in intersectional anti-racism and anti-oppression principles and practices
Be creative and bold, thinking outside the box when it comes to engaging members and building relationships
Possess the interpersonal and organizational skills to successfully gather diverse individuals into a cohesive group
Relate to both young adults and elders with ease, cultivating a sense of intergenerational community that honors people of all ages and experiences
Bring deep listening skills to the work of individual and group accompaniment
Uplift the gifts and leadership capacities of Re/Generators and facilitate opportunities for them to take leadership positions in programs and working groups within Call To Action
Use Google Drive, Zoom, social media (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Discord), Constant Contact, and email skillfully to communicate and collaborate with program participants, colleagues, and at-large membership
Strong writing and editing skills
Additional preferred skills and knowledge:
Experience in ministry and/or movement work
Experience with community-based organizing and/or lobbying initiatives
Knowledge of Catholic church reform or the Catholic left, historically and presently
Experience working with underserved communities or communities pushed to the margins (may include BIPOC communities, queer and trans communities)
Proficiency in Spanish (speaking and writing) a plus
Knowledge of email marketing platforms a plus
NOTE: A degree is not required if the candidate has comparable experience in ministry, program design and facilitation, community activism, organizing, or other fields related to this role.
