World Meeting of Families info call planned

Are you interested in being a pilgrim to the World Meeting of Families?  Join us next week for an informational call with organizers and with last year's World Youth Day pilgrims!

The World Meeting of Families (WMF) pilgrims will travel to Philadelphia in September 2015 to witness to the fact that LGBT Catholics and their allies and families are a full and important part of Church. WMF attracts families from around the world who come together to learn about and celebrate their Catholic faith. The week culminates with a Mass celebrated by the Pope.  he Equally Blessed pilgrims with participate as full members of the gathering while engaging fellow pilgrims in conversation about LGBT inclusion in our Church.

"Pilgrims aren’t expected to be “experts” on Catholic teaching, but should be committed to LGBT inclusion in the Catholic Church and willing to learn about progressive Catholic values. We are searching for pilgrims that represent the wide diversity of LGBT Catholic families, including: same-sex couples, parents of LGBT children, trans parents, and single LGBT parents," explains the Equally Blessed website. Pilgrims will speak from their own experiences as LGBT people and as friends and relatives of LGBT individuals. These stories, and the image of our families as part of the full diversity of our worldwide Church, are a powerful way to build the Church we believe in.
