Trans Day of Remembrance

Today, November 20, is the Transgender Day of Remembrance. In 1998, Rita Hester, a trans woman of color was killed on this day. It has become a day to remember all transgender people that have been killed because of who they are.Sadly, there have been 81 transgender individuals killed this year. The majority are trans women of color, but potential violence and death is a reality all transgender people face to face. Let us take a moment to be still and remember all those whose lives have been lost because they are trans.
