NCR: CTA calls for solidarity to support church worker justice

MILWAUKEE — Among dozens of workshops, caucuses and keynote presentations at the Call to Action conference here Nov. 6-8, one event was especially poignant. About 30 former and active church workers, along with friends of church workers, sat in a circle and shared stories of how they and others laboring for the church have been fired, ostracized and maltreated.

The focus of the conversation and a subtheme of the conference was how church organizations should stand together to seek justice for those who devote their lives to working for the church.
