Equally Blessed and Memphis area organizers enjoy dinner

Last week, staff and leaders of the four member organizations of the Equally Blessed Coalition gathered in Memphis to focus their attention on the movement for Catholic support of LGBT rights. Call To Action, Dignity USA, Fortunate Families and New Ways Ministry are all leaders in the movement and for several years they have been working together as the Equally Blessed Coalition to amplify the voice of Catholics working for LGBT rights. Staff and board representatives of the organizations from across the country work together year round by phone and email and were excited to spend a few days together in person planning the upcoming year's worth of activity.

With the Synod approaching, LGBT firings in the news, a rapidly changing landscape for gay marriage, and a World Meeting of Families pilgrimage to plan, the group had a packed full agenda. They also were able to meet local leaders of the Memphis Diocesan LGBT ministry (a truly inspiring group of wonderful people!) and attend a local Campaign Nonviolence event while they were in town.

Thank you Memphis for being a great host! We'll see you in November
