An Eastcoast Roadtrip

Earlier this month, CTA staff member Bonnie is traveled the East coast to build our organization and hear from some of our dedicated members.  With stops from CT to MA to DC and in between, Bonnie certainly experienced the welcoming hospitality of the Call To Action community! The trip was also a chance to get a taste of the events our chapters organize, as well as to meet in person the network of professionals that keep CTA running. "The next day, after meeting with the team who manages our data at Amergent and learning about how those programs, I headed down to the Cape for the local chapter's presentation of "Band of Sisters" a film about how women in religious life are doing amazing things to serve the community and change the world. I got to sit across from Sr. Theresa Kane at dinner and she did a Q&A after the film.  It was an inspirational event and there was almost 200 people there!"

Meetings with leaders like Paul, a member of the development committee, and Katie, our 20/30 program coordinator, yielded fruitful conversations about the future of CTA. "[Paul] had some great ideas on how to reach the next generation of members and utilize tools like search engine optimization to attract new members and focus our online presence to meet the needs of our potential members." she said. Bonnie also said she's been inspired by meeting long time members. "Not only has Pat been a reliable and dedicated supporter of Call To Action for many years, but she is also one of the most dedicated peace activists," she said after one dinner hosted by a supporter.

Another highlight was an event hosted by CTA with alumni of her own alma mater, Villanova, where she "spoke with many young people who had come together to talk about the importance of activism and working together to transform the church and society as a whole. Many had never heard of Call To Action and it was a relief to them to know such an organization exists."

Bonnie's next stop is the West Coast CTA Conference this weekend! Make sure to say hi to her!
