Conference to Focus on ‘Currents of Change’ in Catholic Church
As the Catholic community participates in unprecedented conversations around lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, issues related to divorce and remarriage, and other vital tenets of the faith, Call To Action’s national conference will take up and continue this important dialogue. Pope Francis’ work to reform the Church will be a significant topic of conversation among presenters and participants.
Call To Action, the country’s largest organization working for equality and justice in the Catholic church, will hold its annual conference November 7-9 in Memphis, TN? at the Convention Center and Downtown Sheraton Hotel.?
This year’s conference – The Well of Many Rivers: Creating Currents of Change – will bring together approximately 1,000 attendees focused on creating a more just, loving, and accountable Church. Over 25 presenters, most of them nationally recognized for their work in the church justice movement and controversial activism, will offer more than 50 presentations throughout the 3-day event.
The conference will include keynote addresses and workshop presentations, church justice caucuses, prayer and liturgy opportunities, and offer participants exhibits and other valuable resources. Key sessions include:
