Conference spotlight: Networking opportunities

One of the best things about Conference, and what keeps people coming back year after year, is spending time with a community of faithful, progressive folks. Our diverse membership includes former catholics, active catholics, cultural catholics and ordained catholics... Church workers, Catholic school alumni, Unitarians and founders of house churches... all of us come together to share our diverse stories with their many threads connecting us to this worldwide church. In all that diversity, many people seek out the Conference opportunities that aim to bring together groups with a common story.

"At the Conference, I can share coffee and a shared vision of an inclusive church with a former priest decades older than me," says Ryan, "then attend a caucus session with young adults who understand the struggle of finding community when you're the youngest face at the parish volunteer day.  That diversity and camaraderie is what keeps me coming back."

Our Conference includes many opportunities for meeting new people and reconnecting with old friends, including free time for meals and exploring the city.  There are also lots of opportunities to gather with those who share a common story or interest; here are a few we're excited for (check your program book for times):

  • Regional caucusing to meet others from your state

  • Welcome receptions for priests, deacons and religious

  • Young Adult pub night

  • Intergenerational pre-conference retreat

  • Caucus session for former priests and those who've considered vowed life

  • Church workers roundtable

  • Chapter leaders pre-conference

  • 20/30 Open Mic night

  • CTA leaders anti-racism discussion

  • Roundtable for young families

  • Receptions hosted by our siblings in the reform movement

See you in Memphis (there's still time to register!)
