Catholics respond to National Marriage Week with love in Cincinnati
Catholics from both sides of the Ohio river are planning a prayerful witness tomorrow outside a diocesan event featuring Archbishop Paprocki in Cincinnati. When individuals in Cincinnati heard that their diocese had invited the Illinois Bishop, who responded to the passage of marriage equality in his state by hosting an exorcism, they knew they had to do something. They reached out to their friends in the Equally Blessed Coalition who connected them with others in their local area who work for LGBT inclusion in our Church and together they planned the event.
“Catholics who support marriage equality are invited to a peaceful, prayerful witness outside the Bartlett Pastoral Center at Mount St. Mary's Seminary, 6616 Beechmont Avenue, Cincinnati tomorrow, Wednesday, February 12th, from 7:00 - 7:45 PM. Come bear witness to the truth and sacredness of the loving commitments that same-sex couples make. What a loving way to kick off your Valentine's celebration!" reads the invitation from the local Dignity community. If you are in the Cincinnati area, join them tomorrow! If you are too far away to make it to the vigil, why not take a moment say a prayer for all marriages and support their work to create a more inclusive Church.
