Catholic Organizations for Renewal Meets in Boston for Spring Meeting
Over the April 10 weekend approximately 20 organizations gathered at the Constitution Inn in Boston for the Catholic Organizations for Renewal (COR) spring meeting to share best practices, review the work of reform in the Catholic Church in the U.S. today, plan for Pope Francis' visit this fall, and pray together.
After fantastic collaboration and dialogue, the group came together to plan an outreach and visibility campaign during Francis' visit this fall. As we know, Francis will be visiting the U.S. September 22-27 and is likely to visit Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families, the United Nations in New York, and the Capital in Washington D.C. to address congress. His schedule, however, is not finalized and may change in the coming months.
The campaign - Love is our Mission: A Church for All - will feature organized and national prayer opportunities for Catholics. Call To Action chapters, faith-sharing groups, intentional Euchrastic communities, parishes, campus ministry groups, etc. will be encouraged to come together at a specific day and time and pray together a liturgy that is being developed uniquely for Francis' visit and our quest for a more just and inclusive Church. The best way to welcome Pope Francis to the U.S. is prayer for a better Church and world!
Stay tuned for more details in the coming months for prayer and liturgy resources, witness opportunities for justice, and more!
