FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Call to Action – Minnesota (a chapter of Call to Action – USA) joins other Catholics around the state in welcoming the news of the resignations of Archbishop Nienstedt and Bishop Lee Piche.  We are hopeful that those hurt by the churches inaction will now be able to continue their healing.

We at CTA-MN see leadership change as a first step toward a new church; one that listens to the voice of all people; one the heeds the message of Pope Francis calling us to become a church of the poor.  We are advocates for an active role by all the baptized in leading the church. We want a church that is transparent and accountable to all.

Call to Action-Minnesota seeks to educate and inspire Catholics to champion inclusion, equality, and justice in our Church.  Embracing our Baptismal call and seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we strive to be a prophetic voice challenging the church to fulfill the vision of Vatican II.
