Call To Action Denounces Hostile Treatment of Syrian Refugees

Earlier today, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) came out in public support of the resettlement of Syrian refugees in the United States. Pope Francis was quoted as saying, “Jesus was a refugee.”

Call To Action joins with our brothers in faith in denouncing civic leaders’ repudiation of settlement efforts and the scapegoating of refugees. This is not who we are as Americans and fails to meet the standards of our Catholic faith. We call on all leaders to embrace those fleeing violence and destruction.
