Vania Ferreira dos Passos was born and raised in Brazil and has been in the USA since 2011. Vania was a nun for almost 8 years and left because she felt she could not fully be who she is and wanted to be more vocal on the issues that she wanted to fight for. Vania was raised in a Community of Basis in Brazil where community and social justice were central part of faith practice. She is passionate about immigration education and reform, LGBT issues and women's participation in the life of the church. Vania will be graduating on December 2015 as a ESOL teacher and is engaged to be married to a most wonderful lady!
