Barbara Fiand inspires attendees to transform their vision of Church and world

CTA of Western Washington organized a very successful retreat day last weekend with Sr. Barbara Fiand, author of many books, including Awe Filled Wonder: The Interface of Science and Spirituality and On Becoming Who We Are. Sixty people (a full house!) attended the full day retreat and learned from her wisdom.

Betty, who help organize the day, said the lectures were engaging and exciting, filled with Barbara's insights on how the "old vision" of the Church and society was formed, and how our growing understanding of science, history and justice must transform our consciousness and worldview. Betty said she was inspired by the stories which illustrated the relationship between spirit and matter and the way in which consciousness affects matter, making every space sacred. "I can't believe I could listen to everything she had to say from 10 to 4! But I did and I loved it! I grew a little more today," remarked one participant. Another said, "This was a wonderful day of reflection. I have brain overload but it is going to give me much to mull over in the days of Lent before Easter."
