Priests encourage lay involvement, support LCWR at national gathering

The Association of US Catholic Priests, a group of priests supportive of progressive reform in the Church, met in St. Louis last week to learn, discuss and share. The group formed in 2011 and has grown to over 1000 members, including many friends of CTA. This year's conference featured workshops on preaching, the theology of the Vatican II document Dei Verbum, and multicultural ministry among other topics.  The group also talked about the new missal translation, women deacons, married priests and the need for more lay and priest involvement in the selection of Bishops. It sounds like a full and spirit filled conference!

AUSCP recently wrote a letter expressing their support of LCWR and has been a strong supporter of lay leadership and engagement. We are excited to hear about their work and happy to get to work with them in transforming our Church!
