5 Cool Things about Wide Open Friday

While I am fully aware that it is Monday and thinking about Friday almost seems cruel, I am choosing to take a vacation in my mind. So, let’s go. You may be asking, what in the world is Wide Open Friday? Let me tell you. It is an opportunity to start a conversation on a topic that is important to you (or participate in one) during the Call To Action Conference, in Milwaukee, November 6-8, 2015. And quite transparently, it is held on Friday afternoon. Here are five really cool things about Wide Open Friday.

  1. You are in charge. Anyone can sign up on the simple form found on the CTA website https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1n58O6A_Ca7D-jlfD4ApE2NPSY2IKbM3h6AbaI2KrdG4/viewform and host a group to discuss what is important to you.

  2. You can get ideas from other people. With the intentionally relaxed structure, as you share your ideas, you can hear what others think and ideas that they might have to further your topic.

  3. You don’t have to host a group to participate. Anyone can show up and join a group that they have enthusiasm for or are just interested in.

  4. You can go to more than one group. There are, in fact, two sessions you can participate in during Wide Open Friday with a short break in between. That means you can get twice as many opportunities for ideas and can meet twice as many people.

  5. I will be there. Even though it is really a chance for anyone to have an informal conversation and/or share information about something that is important to them, I will be helping to organize the logistics. No matter if you are lukewarm about meeting me, I am excited to meet all of you! Pretty cool, I know.
