CTA members in Seattle have been supporting the student-led campaign to support Mark Zmuda; last week they were among those who delivered the signatures to the chancery, while students delivered the same ones to school administrators.  Mr. Z, as the students call him, was vice-principal of a Seattle area catholic school until he was forced to resign for marrying his husband.

Upon hearing about his resignation, students and alumni immediately began a campaign calling on their school to reinstate Mr. Z.  Students say their school taught them to live the Gospel, and the firing of Mr. Z is a shameful action that models the opposite.  Their call to treat LGBT teachers with respect has made national headlines and their campaign quickly drew the support of local Catholics like those in our CTA chapter.

You can find out what the Keep Mr. Z campaign is doing by following them on Facebook.
